‘Cima Dome Fire XIV’ was selected for the Wells Art Contemporary 2024 and the 2023 Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, and also won an Honorable Mention in the 2024 Blue Koi Gallery ‘Back to Nature’ Art Competition.
I’d been planning on new, larger monoprints of Joshua Trees for the Tree Portraits Series for a while, but it took a while to decide on the images to work from, and then where to take that imagery in relation to what I had created before.
I wanted as stark and real a landscape of the desolation wreaked by the Cima Dome wildfire of 3 years ago in the Mojave National Preserve, but I was keen to include elements of mysticism and transcendence that feel apt for such a vulnerable species,
along with some more abstract elements to create a better sense of dynamism in the composition. Here, with ‘XIV’, I felt a strong pull to create a ghost image where it had once stood.
Several of my Joshua Tree series will be part of a charity fundraiser in 2024, with proceeds going towards the replanting efforts to help replace those destroyed in this region of the Park.

Prints can be custom-framed at cost price here in Dartmouth on request.
Smaller prints are flat-packed, while larger works are carefully rolled and shipped in sturdy tubes. Packaging is protective and largely plastic-free.
Signed Certificates of Authenticity are available on request.
Returns are accepted within 28 days if any purchased print is not right for you.
