This is another piece dedicated to Castle Cove, which is one of my favourite local swimming haunts here in South Devon.

‘Castillo del Mar XIV’ has noticeable blocks that transition from background to foreground, which are built up using masking fluid and gelliplate monoprints. This allows for some unpredictable yet highly desirable lines and forms that seem unique to gelliplate printing.

I’ve counterbalanced these graphic elements with the looser brushwork in the tree, and the details of the rocks in the foreground.
