‘York Fire I’ is a Lament to last year’s massive York Fire on the Nevada side of Mojave National Preserve which devasted 100,000 acres of prime Joshua Tree country.
when planning these latest prints, I was keen to elevate these new Trees in some way, to make them stand out more.
Some of the predecessors felt slightly flat to me, so I took a calculated risk by rendering the main bodies of these Yuccas with a dyed filler, before sanding them back and printing layers over the top.
This has helped bring out the textures of their extraordinary trunks and given a more 3-D element to bring out the charred wood and reflect light from the flames.

Prints can be custom-framed at cost price here in Dartmouth on request.
Smaller prints are flat-packed, while larger works are carefully rolled and shipped in sturdy tubes. Packaging is protective and largely plastic-free.
Signed Certificates of Authenticity are available on request.
Returns are accepted within 28 days if any purchased print is not right for you.
