‘Joshua Trees’, Monoprint & pencil on Bristol Clairfontagne cartridge, 25cm x 20cm.

this is a preliminary mono sketch that I did at the start of the commission, where I experimented with using coloured pencils to bring out the highlights in the trees/flowers. Although the original photo from which this was derived was taken in blinding light, I wanted to switch this over to a dusk/nighttime scene, when the desert really comes to life!
