Taupe Lofty (Rugeley) II has its origins in a photo taken on a gorgeous Spring morning when passing the then soon-to-be decommissioned power station at Rugeley in the West Midlands. the woman in the picture was a reflection in the Train window who’s smile seemed strangely out of place in the Environment. the Train’s wake is littered with ephemera, including several Asthma Inhalers (Lofty!). This was my most ambitious Silkscreen at the time in terms of layering, with over 70 unique ‘pulls’ for each Print.
